LEADERSHIP MUST LEAD

A system is defined by the quality of its leadership. A ship on the open sea may have the finest crew on board, the best provisions, and fully stocked fuel tanks, yet without a competent captain, it will never reach its destination but instead drift aimlessly. Simply filling leadership roles with arbitrary competencies is far from sufficient. After all, there is a fundamental difference between having the head chef, the chief engineer, or a trained captain at the command bridge determining the course. In this sense, leadership is a distinct discipline that ultimately determines the success of a system.

The increasing complexity of a globally interconnected society presents leaders with enormous challenges. Tried-and-tested methods are losing their effectiveness, while truly effective approaches are still only being applied hesitantly. One thing, however, remains certain: leadership does not get to choose whether or not to lead – anyone in a leadership position must take responsibility. When leadership is not exercised, motivation declines, conflicts increase, employees leave the company, and destructive practices such as back biting or bullying begin to spread. To the untrained eye, such symptoms seem inexplicable, while crises are usually only recognized once the damage has already occurred.

However, those who are able to think systemically and grasp complex situations holistically can identify problems before they escalate and are capable of developing context-specific solutions independently. For this kind of orientation, we have a model that, instead of relying on one-size-fits-all solutions, is based on principles and thus enables autonomy: the Open System Model® combines systemic thinking with practical applicability, creating a unique synergy. Comparable to the wings of a bird – both must be strong, otherwise flight is impossible. As leaders, we must therefore both know what shall be and develop the ability to practically apply this conceptual knowledge. Only if both components come together can the bird fly – can leadership succeed.

In this foundational seminar, you will become acquainted with this model, which serves as a compass for effective leadership. You will learn what it means to grasp complex interconnections in a holistic way, to trace symptoms back to their root causes, and not only to retain employees within the organization, but to systematically develop them into responsible individuals. Intrinsic motivation, loyalty, and innovative power will then no longer be a matter of chance, but the logical result of leadership that truly leads.

TEAM DEVELOPMENT LEADING BEYOND

The whole is more than the sum of its parts, just as a tree is more than a mere collection of leaves and branches. Constructive collaboration brings forth qualities that cannot be found in any of the individual parts in isolation. If we want to work with real TEAMs according to the OSM® Standard, we must recognize the team as an independent entity with its own unique characteristics. Simply labeling a group as a “team” is not enough - just as writing “honey” on a jar does not make bees come flying.

For true teamwork to unfold its full potential, the ground must be fertile -and organizational structures must be prepared. However, such structures are not generic products available on the market - they must be cultivated internally, and that responsibility lies with leadership.

This seminar illustrates what defines real teams and what prerequisites must be in place to sustainably cultivate teamwork within the organization.

UNDERSTAND – BE UNDERSTOOD

Language is more than just spoken words, and speaking does not automatically mean being understood. Wherever people meet, different mental models collide. The foundation of effective communication lies in the willingness to understand and the ability to express oneself clearly. This requires not only words but, above all, a mindful attitude. Awareness of the interactions and dynamics of modern communication opens the door to stepping out of destructive inner contradictions and fostering constructive, mature relationships.

In this seminar, you are going to learn the basics of systemically open communication, designed to cultivate dignified relationships.

SYSTEMIC RHETORIC

Language is an art, designed to delight the human heart with eloquent messages. The adventure shared within the family circle, the speech among friends, the presentation at school, the statement before the assembled workforce, the address in a public space - communication is ever present. As hosts, we are usually focused on WHAT we want to serve our guests. However, we should pay even more attention to HOW we serve, and most importantly, WHY we serve.

Expressing oneself in a way that is remarkable within a group requires more than merely memorizing speech techniques. It demands authenticity combined with a deep awareness of group dynamics. Systemic Rhetoric creates an authentic connection between the speaker and the audience, allowing messages to resonate on a deeper level and have a more lasting impact. It goes beyond traditional approaches, empowering speakers to consciously take responsibility for group dynamics and influence communication in a meaningful way.

In this advanced seminar on systemically open communication, you will learn how to interact effectively with groups while taking responsibility for learning processes.
